GEORGE SOROS AND AMERICA’S COMING ELECTION CRISIS: A Three-Part Series
by Richard Poe
July 16-18, 2004
“THE GOVERNMENT of the most powerful country on earth has fallen into the hands of extremists…,” writes George Soros in his 2004 book The Bubble of American Supremacy. “[T]he far right is in power in the United States… [P]resident Bush came to office without a clear mandate — he was elected president by a single vote on the Supreme Court.”

With these words, Soros threw down the gauntlet. He declared the Bush presidency tyrannical and illegitimate. Unlike other Democrats, however, Soros has the money, the power and the experience to put his inflammatory rhetoric into action.
Soros helped bankroll the 1989 coup d’etat that catapulted dissident playwright Vaclav Havel to the presidency of the Czech Republic. The relatively bloodless uprising acquired the nickname “Velvet Revolution.” To this day, people throughout the former Soviet bloc use the term “velvet revolution” to denote Soros-sponsored coups. Soros boasts openly in his writings and interviews of subverting governments in Croatia, Slovakia, Yugoslavia and the Republic of Georgia. Now, like a big-game hunter facing retirement, the 73-year-old Wall Street billionaire seeks the ultimate trophy to crown his mantel — the head of George W. Bush on a pike.
“America under Bush is a danger to the world,” Soros told the Washington Post on November 11, 2003. Ousting Bush, said Soros, “is the central focus of my life… a matter of life and death.”
Americans may well find ourselves facing an Eastern-European-style Velvet Revolution in November. I first warned of this danger in “George Soros’ Coup” — an investigative report I wrote for the May 2004 issue of NewsMax Magazine. On May 18, I appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to speak on the Soros threat. Mr. Soros’ spinmeisters have been working overtime ever since to debunk me, their ham-fisted efforts at damage control providing some wan amusement in the midst of an otherwise somber situation.
In the three-part series below, I offer further evidence in support of my theory that Soros has no intention of playing by the rules this November. On the contrary, the Democrat strategy shaping up under Soros’ guidance strongly resembles one of his trademark Velvet Revolutions in the making.
