ST. JUDE is the patron saint of lost or desperate causes. You pray to St. Jude when you have nowhere else to turn. You pray to him when you are trying to do the impossible. You pray to him when all the odds are against you. That’s where I am now. That’s why I’m praying to St. Jude.
In the past, I never would have written an article like this. My pride would have prevented me. In the past, I would have prayed first, then decided what to write later. I would have waited for the results of my prayers. If the results pleased me, then yes, I might have written something about them. But if the results displeased me, I would have kept silent.
In effect, I was bargaining with St. Jude. I was trying to make him a deal. “Answer my prayers, and I will give you free publicity,” I was telling the saint. “But, if you don’t answer my prayers, you’ll get nothing from me.”

St. Jude places a special requirement on his devotees. When you pray to him, you are supposed to publish the results. You are supposed to tell people what happened. |

It’s natural for people to bargain. But bargaining doesn’t work with St. Jude. He’s not a businessman, and he doesn’t need your business.
What St. Jude requires is loyalty, devotion and obedience, with heavy emphasis on the word obedience. St. Jude places a special requirement on his devotees. When you pray to him, you are supposed to publish the results. You are supposed to tell people what happened. You are supposed to tell them what the saint did for you. There are all sorts of ways to spread the word about St. Jude. You can do it the old-fashioned way, by word of mouth, or you can post messages on the Internet. But, one way or the other, you must spread the word. In so doing, you inspire others to pray to St. Jude. At least that’s the theory.
If I have learned one lesson, after nine years of praying to St. Jude, it is this: You cannot bargain with this saint. You cannot sit in judgment over him. It is not our place to judge whether St. Jude has answered our prayers to our satisfaction. When we pray to St. Jude, we must publish the results, whether we like them or not.

With this article, I am going one step further. I am announcing my novena to St. Jude in advance, before I have even finished it. This is the fifth day of my novena. There are four days to go. I have no idea how St. Jude will answer my prayers. I have no way of knowing if he will answer them at all. I do not know if my life will be better or worse when this novena is done. I do not know if my path will be clear or whether it will remain hidden from me. But whatever happens, I will announce the results on this blog.
I am praying for a nine-day miracle. I am praying for a turnaround in my fortunes. I am praying that my little publishing company Heraklid Inc. will succeed, and that I will earn enough money from my books to get back on my feet. And I am praying that St. Jude will make crystal clear, by the ninth day of this novena, whether or not he has chosen to grant my petition.
Whatever happens on the ninth day, I will announce it on this blog, even if it seems like bad news. I will trust that St. Jude has his own good reasons for doing what he does, even when I don’t understand his reasons. And I hope and pray that, whatever happens to me and my wife, and to our struggling little company, be it good or ill, that our story may serve to instruct and help others.

I prayed a novena to St Jude to ask for help for my husband who’s been unemployed for 1 year. He hasn’t received any job offers yet. Does that mean there was no answer?
I’m not a Catholic, but I’m intrigued by the intercession of saints, which I believe to be true. Is that why my novena “didn’t work”? I’ve prayed to God and have had answered prayers many times. Some times almost instantly and others have taken a longer time. But I’ve never prayed with a “timeframe” like a novena seems to be. Does no answer at the end of the novena means my prayer wasn’t answered, or does it take however long it takes?
I’ve been a St. Jude devotee for many years. I’ve never published the results of my novenas because I could never find an avenue for me to actually go out and publish them. One thing I would keep in mind is that your prayer may not be answered the way you want, but rather, the way you need it to be answered.
My latest novena was about a romantic relationship I was involved in. This past October, the relationship was became toxic, and my fiance and I were fighting all the time. I prayed to St. Jude at first praying that the relationship would somehow get better. As time wore on and I kept working on the relationship, I realized that St. Jude may not answer my prayer the way I would have wanted. So I began to pray that God’s will would be done, and that I would have the courage, wisdom, and strength to accept whatever God may will.
The relationship ended on this past Christmas Eve, but, thanks to St. Jude, I have realized that the relationship was one that, had it continued, would have led to even more pain and suffering down the road, in addition to cutting me off from my friends and family. It’s been bittersweet (a little heavy on the bitter), but I feel that the Lord answered my prayers that way they needed to be answered.
I am now going to be starting a new novena, related to a long-standing issue at work, that I’ll be able to resolve it quickly, professionally, and to the satisfaction of my bosses, and that I’ll have many successful years at my current company. If you read this, please keep me in your prayers.
In the end, it was the right thing to do, and I got tons of support from family and friends.
Blessed St. Jude, thank you for all you have done for me my entire life.
i prayed thru the intercession of St. Jude in the past and my prayers got answered, however i didn’t testify the miracle he had worked for me in my hopeless situation, i am now using this medium to thank this amazing saint for answering my prayers, thank you st. Jude.
St. Jude’s novena definitely works wonders, try it, but remember to give your testimony WHEN your prayer is answered.
I have had my prayers answered by St. Jude in the past regarding some issues with friends, and I’ve thanked him for it. Years later I find myself praying to him again as I need a job. I am on my 8th day. Whatever happens I accept and will keep pursuing my goals to achieve in my life.

I posted a week ago that I prayed the novena to St. Jude for my husband to find a job after 1 year of unemployment, and had received no answer. Today my husband got a job offer. I want to first thank God for answering this prayer, and to thank St. Jude for his intercession. I’m more grateful than words can say. I also want to encourage whoever may be reading this. I am having a terrible financial problem, and I just started a serious devotion to St Jude this morning. My mother was rushed to hospital with a gigantic aneurysm and I was told that it was unlikely she could survive a 6 hour operation and if she survived there would be a high chance she would suffer a catastrophic stroke. I rang a friend in despair and he sent me St. Jude’s prayer. I began to pray. My mother had the operation and came through perfect. The surgeon himself was amazed, he said it went so well. I thank St. Jude always for his intervention.

St. Jude has granted many of my request over the years. Although, there were times that I get tired for asking St. Jude the same things over and over again, He’s never failed to answer my prayers even when I don’t publish my gratitude to him – which is why I feel guilty whenever I come to him when my life is in turmoil.

I am starting my novena to St. Jude today. My troubles are my own fault and now I am in a real bind at work. I have made inappropriate (politically incorrect) comments at work. It is probably just a matter of time though. If not this one then it will be another unless I can get control of my tongue. Bear it mind that what I say is not all that bad, there is absolutely no malice intended…but I am old(ish) and a dinosaur and they quit making the mouth filter for my model years ago. I’m no saint and I have baggage from my past but I genuinely love people. My problem is that I blurt out something stupid before my brain engages and now I stand to lose my exceedingly well paying job. I am like the one in St. Augustine’s prayer: “If you strike we cannot bear it, but if you withhold the lash we provoke Thee again to stirke”. I am the poster boy for this. For this reason, I beg St. Jude to intercede for me that, first: my latest blunder doesn’t catch up with me, and, second: that I gain control of my tongue. I don’t deserve either favor. I am a sinner and I am, if not obstinate, very close to it due to my sins ( I have other issues which I don’t want to discuss). I have confidence in St. Jude being the Patron of Lost Causes that he can help. I beg of him to intercede for me in this cause and I promise to publish his favors if he is pleased to take up my cause and God is pleased to grant his requests on my behalf. St. Jude Patron Saint of Lost Causes: Pray for me! If you read this, please mention me in your prayers as I will include a prayer for all of those who mention my request in theirs. Day 1 of novena
I am from India and I am in deep pain that I can’t even able to explain. My love has left me, he ditched me and lied to me and he doesn’t even want me anymore he said. He has stopped talking and texting me since 4weeks now and doesn’t even answers my call or text and doesn’t even bother to check if i am still alive. Dear St. Jude, You have answered multiple prayer requests starting in the beginning of this year. You have saved me from failing four of my major nursing exams. For all of them, I asked for above an 80/82 and You, as always, have graciously helped me to get above that range for all of my exams. I know that there is no way that I could have done this myself. Thank you Jesus Christ and Mother Mary for helping me get through these tough times and allowing St. Jude to intercede on my behalf. Thank you St. Jude for your overwhelming help this semester and I pray that you continue to help me. Lord Jesus, I pray that you show mercy upon me and my family at this time and that You help us to open our eyes, hearts, and minds to what You want us to see and understand. Please give my family and I the strength to overcome the difficulties that lay ahead of us and to seek Your will through all of our experiences. I asked a friend of which novena prayer i can pray due to my sickness issue which i just discovered this week that I’m suffering from and also I’m pregnant with my 1st baby and she referred me to St.Jude novena prayer.
Its my first day of starting the st Jude novena prayer and I’m trusting in him and having a lot of faith that my prayers will be answered by the time i finish the 9th day prayers.

So many miracles that st.Jude has performed over the years for my family. I will share just the major ones.
I have seven brothers and two sisters. When my mom went to hospital to give birth to one of my younger brothers, doctors said the child had turned green and no hope of survival.My mom too was in poor condition. She rose her head up and asked the doctors, “what is the sex of my child and how is it doing?” the doctors looked at each other and shook their heads,”we are sorry mom, it’s a boy but we don’t think he will make it, he has no pulse and his little body has turned green.” Then hey prepared to wrap up the child in a bed sheet.My mom said, “don’t take my child away.” She reached under her pillow and pulled a picture of st.Jude, handed it to the doctors and said, “put this on his body.” Sceptically one doctor reluctantly took the picture and placed it on my baby brother. immediately, there was a pulse. The doctors were amazed. The child sneezed and cried. Today, he is all grown and healthy. He was named Thadeo, after St.Jude.
In another insistence, that same brother of mine, Thadeo, when he was a little boy, choked when drinking coke cola. He was rushed to the hospital but doctors said water had gone to his wind pipe and that he would die in a matter of time. My father said, ‘”As long as st.Jude is alive, he won’t die.” Doctors refused o attend to him citing that they needed to spend their time valuably on patients who were more likely to survive. One nurse saw how determined my father was and she lay the boy down on a side table and set a drip on him. he struggled to breath and it was heart breaking to watch him. As his breath started to subside slowly, the nurse said,”we are finished and hopeless!” My father is a man full of faith.He said,”St.Jude show these people the power of God that he is the God of the impossible.” by that time, doctors had summoned the nurse to the hallway and lectured her why she had risked the reputation of the hospital by embarking on dangerous task.They promised to fire her from her job. When my father peeped through the door to the hall way, this nurse was on her knees begging the doctors for mercy. My dad told her, “rise upend praise God, Thaddeo is sitting on the table and asking why he has all these drip tubes attached to his hand.” The doctors were shocked!’ The nurse praised God. My dad blessed her and asked St.Jude to reward her good heart. A week later, these doctors were fired from their position due to some other unrelated reasons and the nurse was promoted to a hire position.
In another instance , I found myself stranded without transportation. I asked St. Jude to provide me transportation. A few minutes later, A stranger pulled up and said, “I don’t even know why I have stooped my car but jump in so I can get done with this.” He dropped me exactly where I was going and drove away.
So many miracles that I will eventually just compile a book and send to the st.Jude shrine!

Thank you my Patron saint Jude for interceeding for me. I first heard about you from a friend and I decided to committ to prayer and i am very thankful after 10 years of being a contractor and i got my first permanent full time job. I was also praying for a friend of a friend who is somewhere in africa who had breast cancer and everybody was running away from her as her breast cancer wound was smelling so bad. I was told that she is back in school finishing her teaching program and she does not smell anymore. I am engaged and getting ready to be married. My relationship with my sisters was restored. i have peace in my heart and able to pray and sleep very well. A lot has happened in my life and I will never cease to pray Novena to St Jude. I have also told send Novena prayer to firends and family around the world hnd they have witnessed the great works of our Christ.

I have been praying for a long time regarding a very difficult friendship. Today, I became inspired to start a novena to St. Jude. I have faith that my prayers will be answered in accordance with God’s will. I pray for patience and total acceptance of what will occur. I am on my 7th day of the novena. I have a totally hopeless and desperate situation. My husband of 20 years wants out of this marriage. I don’t know which way this is going to go. In the past, prayers to St. Jude have always been granted. I am a strong and firm believer but I also believe that whatever happens, whether it is the way I want it to go or not, it will be in my best interest. St. Jude, God and Jesus know best. I prayed the 9 day novena for a struggling family member. The answer I asked for did not occur. I will continue praying and having faith that the situation will get resolved somehow according to God’s will through St. Jude’s intercession. Amen

Its a very hopeless situation and iv lost all hopes as its been a year and he came back in contact only to play around with my feelings and ridicule me about his future plans to go to another country with someone else if he doesn’t get a job to come back to the country i live in. I begging st Jude heal my sister Cathy. She raise4 children in abusive marriage. 3rd order Franciscan and lay Franciscan. Abandoned 7 yrs ago by abusive husband to streets with nothing. My 86 yr old dad apt became home. She in great trauma with nothing. She worked hard and Dad did. She did his care 22 hours day. Dad died nov.she detached reality and began drinking. Police take her forcefully from apt to hospital to be committed. My heart broken please St Jude she 57 has nothingleft. Thank you St Jude for answering my prayers! I found myself In a desperate situation with a man I loved. I prayed a novena and tried to be as patient as I could while I waited for St Jude to interceded. It didn’t appear to happen straight away (which unfortunately, as much as I tried to fight it, was what I was wanting). About 3-4 weeks later through St Jude’s help we have been growing closer together in God’s love and our relationship is the best it has ever been. Thank you St Jude!
